Start the Year Right!

Join us 9 a.m. on January 1, 2026, to start the New Year by enjoying the panoramic view at the tallest point overlooking Granada Hills and the San Fernando Valley!

At 9AM, New Year’s Day, we will all meet at the Neon Way cul-de-sac. Coffee, juice, donuts are offered free to fire us up and water bottles are provided to keep us going.

All hikers will need to sign a “hold harmless” agreement. Although the hike is considered intermediate difficulty, hiking to the top is not a requirement. We’ll go over safety protocols with CEMP before we take off on the hike. Proper footwear and hydration are key!

Trail Name: Dr. Mario A. DeCampos Trail

Trail Difficulty: Intermediate

Elevation climb: 1200 Feet

Estimated time to top: 1 hour 30 minutes

Trailhead Location: End of Neon Way. (Neon Way/Sesnon Boulevard)  On Street Parking available, but be courteous to the local homeowners.

Trail Guide: Daryt ‘dj’ Frank, local Realtor with Coldwell Banker Exclusive with over 30 years experience helping Southern Californians buy and sell homes, and 20 years experience hiking trails around the San Fernando Valley.

Trail Highlights: Sulphur Spring and Koi Pond, Sporadic Shade Oak Trees, Tres Hermanas Rest Area, possible wildflowers, Mission Point with DeCampos Memorial Plaque and Widower’s Bench, 360 degree view featuring:  San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, SoCal Gas facilities, DownTown LA, Catalina Island.

Hike Hints:  Bring a couple of bottles of water in a small backpack/shoulder bag, wear comfortable sneakers/light hiking shoes. Dress according to the weather but be aware that the day may heat up as it progresses. Hiking Sticks or Poles are also helpful.
