Welcome

TO THE NEXT 100 YEARS

More Centennial Celebration to Come!

May 2026

Dear Citizens, Residents, Business Owners, Students, Parishioners, All Civic Clubs and Organizations’ Volunteers, and Admirers of Granada Hills “The Valley’s Most Neighborly Town,”

Although our initial formal 12-month celebration has concluded, the Granada Hills Centennial Steering Committee is not ready to put away the Birthday Candles as this current Year of “2026” is our 100th Year of Founding of the original Township of “Granada” founded in 1926.

In the coming months we have planned the following:

June  2026
smile Centennial Cookies for all participating Granada Hills Private and Public Schools

July 4th 2026
smile In Honor of our Nation’s 250th Birthday and 100th Anniversary Community Celebration, a Return to our Granada Hills Recreation Center for a “Old Fashioned Fourth of July Picnic”!!!!!

August / September 2026
smile Outdoor Movie Night “E.T. The Extra Terrestrial” (Details and location to be announced)

October 2026
smile Unveiling of Community Welcome Sign and all Granada Hills Service Clubs emblems display highlighting all Granada Hills Service Clubs and Volunteers Organizations.

smile Granada Hills Street Faire with a Centennial Booth. We will be giving away a free centennial keepsake gift to the first 500 people who come by the Centennial information booth.

As you can see, there is more “Granada Hills Centennial“ to enjoy over the course of the remainder of the year.

I would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest appreciation thus far to all the many selfless volunteer individuals who have made the Granada Hills Centennial Celebration an historic and memorable milestone observance that was designed to involve all the many varied spheres of this great community.

Of special recent thanks is to Gala Banquet Chair Susan Armendariz and her entire committee of Maria Fisk, Lori Sawa, Ivette Bertin, Linda Jenkins, Emilie Koster and Mark Hovater for our recent Banquet Spectacular open to the entire public that truly was a “Night to Remember” and a fitting tribute to Granada Hills!

We look forward to instilling even more civic pride and rekindled happy memories in this wonderful community of Granada Hills!

Sincerely,
